Marketing Assistant

Genius Games is looking for a Marketing Assistant with potential to move up in the company to become our Marketing and Sales Manager in the future. You don’t need to know much about Marketing, just a strong desire to learn as you go! This role is critical for Genius Games, and the input, contributions and decisions made by this person will be extremely important to the success of our company.

We’re looking for someone who is highly self-directed, organized, and analytic. Someone who is personable and who loves solving challenging puzzles, and is also not afraid to try new things, test things out and make progress by trial and error. Someone who thrives in an atmosphere where giving and receiving feedback is the norm. 

Most importantly, this person finds meaning and fulfillment in using their skills to personally and directly help drive the growth of a small company.

    THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS LIKE:

    • Highly proficient finding answers by Googling or YouTube - Mandatory
    • Proficient in Spreadsheets (Excel and Google Sheets)
    • Proficient in math, logic and analytic problem solving
    • Personable communicator via email or verbal communication
    • An eye for engaging visual design

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES WILL LIKELY INCLUDE:

    • Coordinating online paid advertising through Amazon, Google, and Facebooks (~20%)
    • Fluctuating tasks: preparing for conventions, Kickstarters, newsletters, etc. (~20%)
    • Social media management, contests, promotions and updates (~15%)
    • Communicating with influencers and product reviewers (~15%)
    • Optimizing Amazon Listings - Keywords, Images, ect. (~10%)
    • Finding and maintaining sales channel relationships (~10%)
    • Team-wide meetings and strategic growth (~10%)

    Note: Tasks above will be molded around candidates strengths, experience and training

    EXPERIENCE IN ANY OF THESE AREA IS A BONUS:

    • Social platforms Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Pinterest, etc. 
    • Listing Products on Amazon’s Seller Central Marketplace
    • Amazon’s Pay Per Click (PPC) Advertising Platform
    • Crafting Newsletters in platforms like MailChimp 
    • Google Analytics, Adwords or Keyword Planner
    • Sending pitch email to potential customers
    • Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube Ads
    • Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
    • Terms Like: Return on Investment (ROI), Click Through Rate (CTR), etc.

    COMPENSATION

    This position can be a Part-Time, or Full-Time and is located in St. Louis, Missouri. The position will include a three months onboarding and training period. Compensation for this position will start at $36,000 to $42,000 for full time (or $15 to $20 per hour for part-time) commensurate with training, education and experience. The hope is to hire an individual to initially take on the day-to-day Marketing and Sales responsibilities. Over the next 1-3 years, this individual would progress into a Manager role with more strategically focused responsibilities and higher compensation and after 5+ years progress into a Director role with greater responsibility and compensation.

    This position offers paid holidays and a very generous PTO package. After one year of employment full-time positions are additionally compensated with quarterly discretionary bonuses based upon performance and company profits. This position currently offers no healthcare or 401k benefits, but the company is currently working on a 401k package and plans to initiate health care benefits in the near future as well.
